A Preview Of What Is To Come

My posts have been infrequent because I am traveling right now. In my downtime I prefer to do to other things rather than write. I do enough of that already writing resumes all day, anyways. But by early August I expect to catch up on all of my blog posts with new posts every other day. What to expect in those posts?

But by early August I expect to catch up on all of my blog posts with new posts every other day. What to expect in those posts?

-A horrible 12 hour motorcyle trip to Cordoba, Argentina that includes breaking down at 3am in the middle of nowhere

-A pleasant weekend trip to Uruguay including Montevideo, Punta del Este, and Colonia

-More posts about my life studying in Argentina, the nightlife, my student residence, friends, etc.
-Traveling in Bolivia (Crossing the border, Salar de Uyuni, touring a mine, visiting prison, the jungle, women wrestling, mountain biking down the worlds most dangerous road, La Paz, Sucre, etc.

-My short return to Argentina after a while of traveling in Bolivia

-My return to Colombia after 5 months away

"That Spanish Sounds Really Weird"

Five Americans were at a bar.

Five Americans were at a bar.

They were watching a live band.

One of them comments to the other, "that Spanish sounds really weird".

All but one agreed.

The band was singing in Portuguese, not Spanish!

A Not So Typical Monday Night In Buenos Aires

My classes on tuesday do not begin until 1, giving me tons of time to enjoy Monday night. But this is not the same for all of my other roommates. But I still managed to convince them to come out.

We left the house at around 8PM walking with no direction and no plans in mind. The first stop after an hour of walking was to buy the cheapest wine available, 2 peso boxed wine (less than $1).

A little while later this monday night was not so boring anymore.

We kept walking.

We somehow ended up at a house party where we knew nobody. But halfway during the party we lost a team member.

The two remaining, myself and Alex, finally took a cab home. A block away we saw this creepy stuffed animal.

And then we found the missing team member.

Now that's a Monday night in Buenos Aires.

Lost. In Buenos Aires.

A typical thursday night in Buenos Aires means the start of the weekend for me. See, I don't actually have any classes on Friday. Never.

After finishing my Theory of Tango class (in Spanish), i'll walk the 2o minutes from university back home and make dinner, followed by a nap.

I wake up at 11:30 PM for a shower and then begin drinking. On this particular night, I went with my Brazilian friend Alex to his Argentine friend's apartment for some pre-drinking.

After vodka and sprite while dancing to cheesy music, we went to Lost. Lost is a club open only on thursdays where they play only hiphop.

The music is good and the place is always packed.

Fast forward to 6am and you'll find us in a taxi on the way back home.
